16. Butter
Traditionally, butter has been regarded as a source of unhealthy fats in cooking. However, as scientific understanding evolves, it is now recognized that butter isn’t necessarily as detrimental as once believed. In fact, butter contains valuable nutrients, including vitamin D, which is essential for bone growth, development, and mental health.
Additionally, butter contains calcium, which can be beneficial for individuals with osteoporosis. It’s important to note, however, that this doesn’t mean one can consume excessive amounts of butter on a daily basis. According to Healthline, it is recommended to limit butter intake to 1–2 tablespoons per day and to incorporate other healthy fats such as olive oil, nuts, seeds, coconut oil, avocados, and fatty fish into the diet.
